Mobilgrease XHP™ 460 is an enduring lithium complex grease intended for a wide range of heavy-duty applications and operating conditions. This grease is designed to outperform conventional products, utilizing proprietary, high-performance lithium complex manufacturing technology. This product is formulated to provide excellent high-temperature performance with excellent adhesion, structural stability, and water contamination resistance. This grease has a high degree of chemical stability and offers excellent protection against rust and corrosion. This grease has a high dropping point and is recommended for operating at a maximum temperature of 140º C (284°F). Mobilgrease XHP 460 greases are formulated with an ISO VG 460 base oil viscosity and are available in NLGI 1 and 2 grades. Mobilgrease XHP 462 Moly contains 3% molybdenum disulfide to provide enhanced EP and AW protection in heavy load and high sliding applications.

Applications
Mobilgrease XHP 460 is used in a wide range of applications, including industrial, automotive, construction, and marine. Mobilgrease XHP 461 and 462 are blue, which facilitates application verification. With a high ISO VG 460 base oil viscosity, this grease is recommended for high-load applications at low to moderate speeds, including most bearing applications in the paper, construction, and mining industries, as well as off-highway vehicles.
Specific applications:
- Mobilgrease XHP 461 is recommended by ExxonMobil for use in industrial and marine applications, chassis components, and agricultural equipment. This product performs very well at low temperatures. It is suitable for low-speed flexible gear couplings.
- Mobilgrease XHP 462 Series is recommended for use in felt roll bearings, wet bearings, and press section bearings. It is also a good multipurpose grease for mill, industrial, marine, chassis component, and agricultural equipment applications.
- Mobilgrease XHP 462 Moly contains 3% molybdenum disulfide and is specifically recommended by ExxonMobil for various applications such as bucket pins and fifth wheels, where molybdenum provides extra protection when sliding friction and oscillating motion can cause oil film depletion, leading to metal-to-metal contact.
